Solid instructional design can be movitating.
I use micro-learning to build confidence and help learners feel like they can do it. Usually, these courses are the teaser to a full course or curriculum. A precheck or a small interaction in the course will do the same.
And building compentency? Putting in a real effort to provide tailored or supplemental feedback beyong “Incorrect”. Using points, badges, or even showing a progress bar helps learners to be motivated as a reward system.
Motivation for my work? At the start of my day, I prioritize a quick win or something creative to help me gain momentum.
